Brian Lee 

Professor of Music | Piano

Dr. Brian Lee (Professor of Music) has been on the Moody faculty since 2003. He considers teaching at Moody as a gracious gift from God and a blessing of ministry to the Lord and to wonderful students. His church music ministry experience includes piano, keyboard, voice, and worship leading. He serves in the local body of Christ as a member of Maranatha Bible Church – Chicago.

A concert pianist and active performing artist, Dr. Lee has given solo performances in venues such as the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series, Bargemusic in New York City, and concert halls across China. He has also given premieres of works by prominent American composers and has been a concerto soloist with several orchestras. In addition, he has collaborated with many accomplished artists, and his performances have included the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series, Live from WFMT, and in recital series ranging from concert halls, college campuses, churches, and retirement communities. His commercial recordings can be found on Albany Records, Blue Griffin, among other recording projects. As a dedicated educator, Dr. Lee has been invited as a guest artist, adjudicator, masterclass teacher at many educational institutions, competitions, and festivals. He is a graduate of Wheaton College, New England Conservatory, and The Juilliard School, where he earned a doctorate degree. He and his wife, Helen, are the parents of three sons.
